The actual job: Review and assess business requirements needed for any new project or an enhancement in an existing product prepare a detailed functional specification document create/raise issues in current production environment investigate and fix those issues
What people really do: nothing.
Copy things here and there from previous functional specification documents only create and raise the hell about current issues/problems and blame it on Engineers and poor design chat and leave home early to put. In short bulls**t your way to an upper management position and be the ultimate and biggest bulls**tter
