Predictably, Apple’s cease-and-desist order turned the $99 action figure into a collectible

Unless it was a bogus transaction — something you can never be sure of on eBay — one of those Steve Jobs action figures that got so much press last month has sold online for $2,500.
The SJ Action Figure, you may recall, was hand-painted doll that sold for $99 until Apple (AAPL) complained to M.I.C Gadget — its Chinese manufacturer — that the toy constituted an unauthorized use of a person’s name or likeness and threatened to sue under California Civil Code Section 3344.
Only 300 were made, and as i Phone Savior reports, they’ve started to show up on eBay. What makes us a little suspicious about the $2,500 sale is that there was only one bid — for the full asking price — and within a few days another SJ Action Figure auction had popped up on eBay with the same $2,500 Buy It Now price.
