Abraaj Capital has led an acquisition of the oilfield services business of TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd. (NYSE: TAT), in partnership with a vehicle affiliated with company chairman and CEO N. Malone Mitchell. The deal is valued at $164 million, including $152.5 million in cash and an $11.5 million interest-bearing note. RLJ Equity Partners has acquired LAI International, a a Scottsdale, Ariz.–based provider of finished parts, components and subassemblies for aerospace, power generation, defense, medical and electronics. The Blackstone Group has agreed to invest $2 billion into Cheniere Energy Partners LP (NYSE: CQP), a Houston-based liquefied natural gas company that plans to use the proceeds to build its first exporting facility in Louisiana. The deal was done via an issuance of special units. Www.blackstone.com
