At 12:37 this afternoon, the official Twitter feed for automaker Audi sent out the following photo, with the caption “What could this mean?”
About 15 minutes later, the company made official what’s been rumored for the past several days: Audi is buying Italian motorcycle maker Ducati from shareholders like private equity firm Industrialinvest.
No financial terms were disclosed, but press reports have pegged the deal at around $1.1 billion.
