FORTUNE — I’m not sure where Meet the Press’ David Gregory was going with this, but NBC is reporting the results of his survey of smartphone use in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Unsurprisingly, given Apple’s (AAPL) share of the U.S. Smartphone market, especially among wealthier Americans, is that the iPhone at 58% is the clear favorite on both sides of the aisle.
More surprising — or at least less predictable — is that the iPhone is more popular among Republicans than Democrats (61% vs. 56%) and that the Dems show a slightly higher preference for Blackberries (25% to 21%) and Android phones (5% to 3%).

NBC’s methodology (I quote): THIS SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED OVER A TWO WEEK PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 6- SEPTEMBER 20, 2013 THROUGH CALLS AND EMAILS TO EVERY CONGRESSIONAL OFFICE. MEET THE PRESS RECEIVED RESPONSES FROM 88 PERCENT OF HOUSE MEMBERS -12 PERCENT (51 MEMBERS) DECLINED TO PARTICIPATE OR DID NOT RESPOND.
