FORTUNE — Target (TGT) has let go of its leader in the Great White North.
The retailing giant has fired Tony Fisher following a troubled start to the Minneapolis, Minn.-based company’s first move outside the United States, reports the Associated Press. Target is due to report its quarterly earnings results tomorrow morning.
Fisher will be replaced by Mark Schindele, who has been with the company for 15 years and was most recently the senior vice president of merchandising operations.
Target lost nearly $1 billion in its first year in Canada as stores had inventory problems and Canadian consumers thought prices were too high.

Two weeks ago, Target parted company with its CEO Gregg Steinhafel as the retailer struggled under the burden of missed sales expectations, a difficult move into Canada and a huge data breach.
