General Motors, already facing a potential fine from the Department of Justice and continuing fallout from the ignition switch recall scandal, is now facing a $10 billion lawsuit from consumers whose cars lost value as a result of the defect.

The case was filed in California by Anna Andrews, according to a Reuters report.

In her testimony in front of Congress Wednesday, Barra alluded to the lawsuit when asked about GM’s plan to make payments to those who lost loved ones or were seriously hurt in accidents caused by the ignition switch malfunction, saying the issue of those who were not hurt, but suffered financially, is “in front of the courts.”
