Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) has agreed to sell trading technology providers NYFIX and Metabit to ULLINK, a France–based provider of electronic trading solutions and connectivity to the financial community. Atara Biotherapeutics Inc., a Brisbane, Calif.-based drug company focused on muscle wasting conditions and oncology, has filed for a $50 million IPO. It plans to trade on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol ATRA, with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup serving as co-lead underwriters. Shareholders in the pre-revenue company include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (18.6% pre-IPO stake), Domain Associates (13.2%), DAG Ventures (13.2%), Baupost Group (11.8%), Celgene Corp. Shareholders include Franklin Mutual Advisors (9.3% pre-IPO stake), Elliott Management (8.5%) and Bond Street Investors (6.3%).
Ocular Therapeutix Inc., a Bedford, Mass.-based developer of a ophthalmic therapies, has filed for an $86.25 million IPO. It plans to trade on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol OCUL, with Morgan Stanley, Cowen & Co. And RBC Capital Markets serving as underwriters. Shareholders in the pre-revenue company include Versant Ventures (19% pre-IPO stake), Polaris Partners (16.2%), SV Life Sciences (15.1%), Ascension Ventures (12.5%) and Baxter Healthcare Corp. Smart & Final, a Commerce, Calif.-based food and grocery retailer owned by Ares Management, has filed for a $100 million IPO. It plans to trade under ticker symbol SFS, with Credit Suisse serving as lead underwriter. The company reports $2.5 million of net income on $735 million in sales for the 12 weeks ending March 24, 2014, compared to $1.5 million of net income on $690 million in revenue for the year-earlier period.
