Boeing could soon be soaring over the Emerald Isle.
According to Reuters, Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair will be making a $10 billion purchase from the Chicago-based aerospace manufacturer. The deal, expected to be finalized within a week, would be for around 100 high-density 737 MAX jetliners.
Both companies declined to comment to Reuters, and neither could be immediately reached by Coins2Day.
Reuters notes that this sale would be a result of recent attempts by both Boeing (BA) and European rival Airbus to appeal to low-cost carriers like Ryanair. These cheaper airlines want a seat count of just below 200, because they were required to provide one flight attendant for every 50 passengers.
Ryanair and Boeing have both in the news lately. Just yesterday Boeing announced that it was expecting to sell more than 6,000 airplanes in China alone over the next 20 years. And last week Ryanair announced it was creating a business class for flights, deviating slightly from its famously ultra no frills approach to air travel.
Boeing stock prices are down nearly 1% as of noon today.
