Hello, friends and Coins2Day readers.

It’s here! Rumor has it that the new iPhone will be unveiled today. Here’s what you need to know in business:

Apple takes center stage

Very few things can cause the entire business news sphere to stop and look in the same direction, but an Apple press conference is one of them. Especially one where a new iPhone model is being announced, not to mention the likely debut of the iWatch, the first new product line the Cupertino giant has released since Steve Jobs died. It’ll surely be a barn burner, so check back to Coins2Day.com for updates. The event begins at 1 p.m. EDT. Below, find video of what the rumored new iPhone might look like:

Will Krispy Kreme earnings be sweet?

The doughnut chain famous for the red siren will report earnings this afternoon. Last quarter they missed analyst expectations, and some analysts don’t think this quarter will be much of an improvement.

More jobs data today

After a slew of employment numbers were released last week, another bit of jobs data comes out today: the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey for July. This should give us an idea of general labor health, and how many jobs are available for those looking.

Home Depot confirms breach

We’ve suspected for a few weeks that Home Depot was hit by a hacker, but the retailer confirmed it yesterday. This is the latest in a string of cyber attacks, most notably the one against Target earlier this year.

Is NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on thin ice?

The Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal rocked the NFL this week. TMZ, which published security video of the incident yesterday, is reporting that commissioner Roger Goodell never asked the casino for the tape, which would have been provided to him. Many are calling for Goodell’s job, and the scandal doesn’t seem to be fading away any time soon.
