Apple is expected to hold “special event” on Oct. 16 to launch its new iPads, according to technology website Re/Code.

At the event, the iPhone maker could unveil the new iPads, along with updates to its iMac. The new iMacs will likely be equipped with a retina display, which would be the company’s first desktop computer with the enhanced imaging technology, according to 9to5Mac.

Apple reportedly will also reveal a gold iPad. Reports say the updated tablet may come equipped with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor currently on newer versions of the iPhone.

The event may be held at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, according to Re/Code. Originally, rumors circulated that the event was scheduled for Oct. 21.

In September, Apple announced its new line of iPhones, a smart watch and Apple Pay, a mobile payments system. But the new iPhones have been met with some controversy, including bendgate, in which the phone is said to bend easily in a person’s pocket, and updategate, an issue with an earlier version of Apple’s iOS 8.

Last year, Apple announced the iPad Air, the second generation iPad mini, and released its OS X Mavericks operating system on Oct. 22.

The new features to the iPad could prove to be a boon for flagging sales, with 13.3 million sold for the period ending June 28. That’s down 9% from 2013, according to CNet.

The site also reported the iPad amounts to Apple’s second greatest stream of revenue, or 15%, after the iPhone.
