Chrysler is the latest car brand to be hit by the recall bug.
On Thursday, Chrysler announced two recalls involving myriad products manufactured in the last few years — some for alternator problems, and some that could potentially cause a fire.
The first recall, for 434,581 cars from five models — the Chrysler 300, the Dodge Challenger, Charger and Durango, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee — is because the alternator could fail. If this happens, the car would stall and potentially crash.
The second recall is for 313,236 Jeep Wranglers. The Wranglers have the potential to catch fire due to corrosion in the external power mirrors.
All of this information comes from documents filed with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
Dealer and customer notification will begin in late November or early December.
The carmaker is part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCAU), which started trading shares Monday on the New York Stock Exchange.
