Taipei-based DigiTimes, which covers Apple’s Asian supply chain like TMZ.com covers celebrity gossip, reported Thursday that Cupertino has put in orders for enough system chips to make 30 million to 40 million Apple Watches.
Analysts surveyed by Coins2Day the day after Tim Cook unveiled the device offered 2015 sales estimates ranging from 10 million to 60 million. Average: 22.6 million.
The Apple Watch is officially scheduled for release in “early 2015” starting at $349.
