Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors, has received praise for her leadership of the Detroit company through a recall scandal in 2014, and it turns out she was well-paid for it as well, to the tune of $16.16 million.

This number was more than her targeted compensation, but less than she could have made if GM (GM) had met other business-related metrics, according to Reuters.

Barra’s salary is a 78% jump over what her predecessor Dan Akerson earned in 2013. Barra took over the top job at GM early last year, becoming the first woman to run a major North American auto manufacturer.

Only $4.55 million of Barra’s pay is in salary, or other liquid assets. The rest is in stock awards, which cannot be cashed out yet.
