FRANCE-ATTACK-FACTORY
French police and firefighters gather at the entrance of the Air Products company in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, near Lyon, central eastern France, on June 26, 2015. An attacker carrying an Islamist flag killed one person and injured several others at a gas factory in eastern France, according to a legal source. The suspected attacker entered the factory and set off several small explosive devices, the source said. A decapitated body was found nearby the factory, another source said. Hello friends and Coins2Day readers.

Wall Street stock futures are set to open higher on hopes that the Eurozone will avert a Greek default next weekend, despite continued tensions as talks are put on ice till Saturday. Crude oil futures however have fallen below $60 a barrel for the first time in three weeks due to the strengthening dollar.

Today’s must-read story is from Coins2Day‘s Peter Elkind and it is the first in a three-part investigation that dissects the massive cyber attack that brought Sony Pictures to its knees. Take a look inside the “Hack of the Century.”

Here’s what else you need to know today.

1. Man found decapitated after Islamist attack in France

A man has been found decapitated after what appears to be a terrorist attack by sympathisers of Islamic State in France. The attack took place at the site of a local subsidiary of Allentown, Pa.-based Air Products & Chemicals.

2. Consumer sentiment

The University of Michigan will release its report on consumer sentiment for the month of June today. The index is expected to have remained at roughly the same level as the previous month, at 94.6, which would indicate a consistent level of confidence in the overall economy among U.S. Consumers.

3. Another athletic earnings report

Finish Line (FINL) reports first-quarter financial figures this morning. The athletic apparel and footwear retailer is likely hoping to follow in the sneakered footsteps of larger rival Nike (NKE), which saw its shares rise on Thursday after reporting strong gains in profit and revenue that outpaced Wall Street’s expectations. Analysts expect Finish Line to post a dip in quarterly earnings, while the company’s sales should be on the rise.

4. More from SCOTUS?

Today is one of the last days of the U.S. Supreme Court’s current term, which means a big decision on same-sex marriage could be forthcoming. The nation’s highest court is set to deliver a ruling on whether or not same-sex couples have a basic right to get married in the U.S. (Or, at least, whether same-sex marriages that happen in a state where they are legal must be recognized by all states). The decision, which could come today, follows the Supreme Court’s ruling on Thursday to uphold the Affordable Care Act.

5. FCC’s Wheeler talks broadband

Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, will make keynote remarks at the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C. In which he will discuss policies aimed at supporting high-speed, universal broadband Internet access. Wheeler, who is overseeing the implementation of the FCC’s new net neutrality rules, will discuss the best ways to maximize the benefits of broadband, including providing high-speed access to schools.
