Supreme Court Hears Arguments On Case Involving Donor Limits To Political Campaigns
WASHINGTON, DC - OCTOBER 8: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is seen outside the Supreme Court in Washington, on October 8, 2013 in Washington, DC. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in McCutcheon v. Federal Election Committee, a first amendment case that will determine how much money an individual can contribute directly to political campaigns. Bernie Sanders, the insurgent candidate currently enjoying a nice bounce in the polls for who will be the Democratic nominee for president, will be among the first guests for Stephen Colbert as he launches his new version of the “Late Show,” according to Variety.

Colbert, who previously played a caricature of the kind of right-wing blowhard Sanders would really irritate on his Comedy Central show “The Colbert Report,” will launch his version of the show on Sept. 8. The show was previously hosted by Dave Letterman, who stepped down earlier this year.

Sanders will appear on Sept. 18. This could be a huge opportunity for Sanders to play to his popularity among young voters. He is one of the older candidates in the race, and Colbert tends to draw a slightly younger demographic.
