Fiat Chrysler announced Thursday that it is recalling 1.7 million Ram trucks for problems with steering-wheel wiring harnesses, air bags and steering components.
The auto company issues three recalls, according to USA Today. One impacts 1.1 million trucks that may have faulty steering-wheel wiring harnesses that incorrectly set off the driver-side airbag. It’s also recalling more than 190,000 heavy-duty trucks that might have bracket weld problems that impact steering. The final recall affects 188,000 Ram pick-ups so that Fiat Chrysler can make them federally compliant with reducing the risk of ejecting passengers when one of the airbags is deployed.
Ram pickups are recalled at unusually high rates, according to Yahoo News. The 2014 Ram 1500, for example, was recalled nine times.
