Football fanatics will have a whole new platform through which to enjoy NFL footage this year: NFL Live Stories on Snapchat.

CNBC reports that these live stories will combine snaps submitted by fans and “inside access content” from the league. Brands will be able to advertise through the platform as well.

You can contribute to a story by turning on your location services for the app so that it can recognize when you’re at a specific NFL game or event. When you take a picture or record a video through the application, you’ll then be presented with the option to submit it to the NFL Live Story. The story will be available for all Snapchat users to see for up to 24 hours following the event.

The NFL and Snapchat tested this partnership with a live story from the NFL Draft in Chicago. It was viewed by nearly 15 million people and was considered a success. The new Snapchat Lenses that were included in the app’s most recent update will hopefully make the live story that much more exciting (if we’re not all tired of them by that point).

This is just one of the ways that the NFL will be digitally distributing content. A lot of events are scheduled to stream online through multiple different networks and providers. It’s all very confusing, which is why we wrote an ultimate guide to streaming NFL football to get you through the season.
