With summer finally turning to fall, it’s also time for movie theater fare to start turning from big-budget blockbusters to Oscar bait.

With that in mind, we welcome the new trailerThe Big Short, the upcoming movie based on journalist Michael Lewis’ 2010 book of the same name. In the non-fiction book, Lewis — who also wrote Moneyball and Flash Boys — told the story of the housing and credit bubble that built up ahead of last decade’s financial crisis. The book and the movie both follow the stories of several people who predicted that the bubble would burst and set up the credit default swap market, which bet against big banks’ asset-backed securities, in order to profit off of the financial collapse.

The trailer, released Tuesday by Viacom’s (VIA) Paramount Pictures, features quite the list of A-level Hollywood names, including Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, and Steve Carell. “The banks got greedy. And, we can profit off their stupidity,” Carell’s character says about halfway through the fast-paced trailer, which counts a Led Zeppelin tune as its soundtrack.

The movie, directed by Anchorman and Step Brothers director Adam McKay, hits theaters on Christmas Day 2015. The film marks the second time that Pitt has acted in a movie adapted from a Michael Lewis book. He also starred in the 2011 Moneyball adaptation.
