Maybe Starbucks (SBUX) is caving to Pumpkin Spice Latte detractors: for the first time in four years, it’s unveiling a new fall flavor.
The Toasted Graham Latte is a mash-up of the taste of graham crackers soaked in milk and vanilla cream, according to a Starbucks press release.
“I thought about the back-to-school season and looked at the latest food and beverage trends,” Yoke Wong, Starbucks beverage R&D manager said in the release. “What I found to be quite popular in the U.S. Is the taste of cereal milk, the delicious leftovers in your breakfast bowl.” For some New Yorkers, the inspiration sounds suspiciously similar to the cereal milk confections at Milk Bar, a restaurant that is part of David Chang’s Momofuku empire.
The seasonal latte comes in a special cup design for “those who relish the autumn season,” according to the Starbucks release.
