Cyrene Quiamco (CyreneQ on Snapchat), a 26-year-old web designer, makes a living by created sponsored Snapchat stories for large brands, Tech Insider reports.
Quiamco has been using the app since January 2014 and her Snapchat stories tend to garner about 35,000 views. Her first paid assignment was to draw two snaps promoting NBC’s “The Voice.” Since then she has worked with well-known brands including Disney, Samsung, Burger King, 20th Century Fox, and Lionsgate.
She tells TI that each assignment “starts with a rough storyboard, drawn, written, or both, and then it goes back and forth with the client” until she and the brand can agree on a storyline. Each drawing typically takes her around one to two hours, and each video usually takes between three and ten attempts.
Early on in her Snapchat career Quiamco made between $1,000 and $10,000 per story, which would consist of about 100 seconds worth of footage and digital artwork. That number has since grown and, although she would not disclose to TI what each company pays, she did divulge that her last project earned her a whopping $25,000.
