The bearish take on the news that Apple sold a record 13 million iPhones in three days—and you knew there had to be a bearish take—came in two forms:
- It’s no big deal because China, which got the new phone on day one this year, accounted for most of that 30% year over year increase
- It’s no big deal because 13 million is measure of supply, not demand—of how fast Apple can build iPhones, not how eager people are to buy them

This doesn’t negate either of those interpretations, but it’s noteworthy that after six days, Apple.com in China has run out of the new iPhone in all its permutations.

iPhone 6S: 3-5 working days
iPhone 6S Plus: 2-3 weeks
iPhone 6S Plus in rose gold: 3-4 weeks
