With the Mets now in the World Series, ticket prices for a seat at Citi Field next week are surging.
Want to watch the game live in New York City? You’ll need to shell out at least $700 just to snag a seat in the stadium. That’s for a cheap one, too, according to data from TiqIQ, a firm that compiles statistics about ticket prices.
In an email to Coins2Day, TiqIQ revealed that the average price of a Mets home game ticket is now $1,587.
Average prices for tickets with potential opponents the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals are expected to go for similar prices. Tickets for the Blue Jays could be $1,613, should they advance to the World Series, and tickets with the Royals could be about $1,593 on average.
TiqIQ says those prices are the most expensive it has tracked in its six years of collecting such data.
The most expensive ticket in Citi Field currently? That belongs to a seat going for over $23,000 right behind the plate.
