Despite Android’s global success, Google won’t be folding its PC operating system, Chrome OS, into Android, the company said on Monday in a blog post.

Last week, the Wall Street Journal published a report, citing anonymous sources, that the tech giant had been working on combining its two operating systems under Android’s umbrella. The new system would run on both mobile devices and PCs, the report said. It would unveil it next year and make it publicly available in 2017.

Google (GOOGL) immediately denied the rumor, and on Monday expanded on its commitment to Chrome’s suite of software and products. Next year, dozens of new Chromebooks, lightweight laptop that run on Chrome’s operating system, are slated for release, the company says. A new media player, along with a new design and extra security features are also in the works.

Google has also committed to software auto-updates for the next five years for its Chromebooks.
