Need a new TV? You’ll have a number to choose from at incredibly discounted prices this Black Friday – assuming you’re willing to wake up early enough (or, even better, fight off the tryptophan after your Thanksgiving dinner and stay up all night waiting in line).
Electronics will be the most deeply discounted items on sale as the holiday shopping season officially gets underway. And TVs will see the biggest cuts. To help you prepare for the retail frenzy, Coins2Day consulted with experts from BestBlackFriday.com and DealNews.com, who monitor Black Friday ads, comparing the deals to products’ typical retail price throughout the year.
Keep in mind that some products are only manufactured for the holiday rush, so there’s no way to know how much you’re actually saving. On other items, we’ve included the discount. With that in mind, here are their thoughts on the best individual deals by store.
Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart isn’t a place for Black Friday rookies. The stores are crowded – even by Black Friday standards. The competition among shoppers is ferocious. And it’s hard to do surgical shopping, since the stores are so enormous.
It does have deals, though. This year, keep an eye out for these bargains:
- Fitbit Flex – $59 (a $40 savings)
- Roku 32″ Smart HDTV – $125
- Apple iPad Mini 2 – $199 (a $69 savings)
- Roku Special Edition Streaming Media Player – $25
Target
Target, historically, has been a bit calmer than Wal-Mart, but this year could be a bit more chaotic than usual, given the large number of deals being offered – and a TV doorbuster that, so far, no one has topped.
Here’s what to look for:
- Westinghouse 55″ 1080p LED HDTV – $250 (a $350 savings)”The $249.99 price point is the lowest for a 55” HDTV this year, and really the lowest that we have seen ever,” says Phillip Dengler of BestBlackFriday.com
- Samsung UN60J6200 60″ 120Hz 1080p Smart HDTV – $698 (a $150 savings)
- Xbox One Gears of War Bundle with a $60 Target Gift Card – $300 (a $50 savings – $110 when gift card is factored in)
- Guitar Hero Live – $59 (a $40 savings)
- Apple Watch with $100 Target Gift Card – $349 (a $100 when the gift card is factored in)
Best Buy
A brick and mortar haven for gadget hounds, Best Buy is always a popular stop for Black Friday shoppers. And it’s swinging for the fences this year.
- Toshiba 49” 1080p LED HDTV – $149.99 (a $280 savings)”This is the best overall HDTV deal of the season,” says Dengler. “No other store is coming close.”
- Amazon Fire 7-inch 8GB Tablet (current generation) – $35 (a $95 savings)
- Samsung 40” 1080p HDTV and Xbox One The Lego Movie Bundle – $500 (a $230 savings)
- Asus 15.6″ Laptop – $140 (a $110 savings)
Dell Home
This online destination often gets overlooked on Black Friday as Amazon and others ramp up their marketing machines. But it has a handful of deals you don’t want to miss:
- Vizio M60-C3 60″ 4K LED LCD Ultra HDTV – $800 (a $298 savings)
- Xbox One 500GB Gears of War Bundle with Fallout 4 and an extra controller – $300 (an overall $170 savings)
Kohl’s
Largely known as a clothing retailer through most of the year, Kohl’s ramps up the deals on its other merchandise on Black Friday, always offering several items at deep discounts and supplementing those with its “Kohl’s cash” – which can be used to pay for merchandise at a later date.
- Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital Camera – $400 (a $400 savings)
- Samsung 40” HD 1080p LED Smart TV – $320 (a $210 savings – when the $90 Kohl’s cash you earn is worked in it results in a $300 savings)
- PlayStation 4 Uncharted Bundle or Xbox One The Lego Movie Bundle – $300 (a $50 savings – $125 when accrued Kohl’s cash is included)
