Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump opened himself up to a firestorm of criticism on Monday when he said he wanted to block Muslims from traveling or immigrating to the United States following the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, Calif.

Trump said in a statement posted on his campaign website that he wanted “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our countries representatives can figure out what is going on.”

Unsurprisingly, Trump immediately faced backlash from all corner over his latest bomb. Fellow Republican and Democrat campaign rivals quickly issued statements expressing shock that he would call for such drastic measures.

Here’s a round-up of some them:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush:

Donald Trump is unhinged. His "policy" proposals are not serious.

— Jeb Bush (@JebBush) December 7, 2015

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio:

I disagree with Donald Trump's latest proposal. His habit of making offensive and outlandish statements will not bring Americans together.

Hillary Clinton:

This is reprehensible, prejudiced and divisive. @RealDonaldTrump, you don't get it. This makes us less safe. -H https://t.co/SjAqL0clHd

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders:

Now, @realDonaldTrump and others want us to hate all Muslims.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich:

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie:

On his Twitter account, Christie linked to a transcript of his comments on Michael Medved radio show about Trump’s plan in which he said, “In my view, that’s a ridiculous position and one that won’t even be productive.”

Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina:

Fiorina said during a press conference in Iowa that Trump’s statement was an “overreaction,” and she made sure to take a swipe at President Obama as well, according to a CNN report.

“President Obama isn’t prepared to do anything, which is clearly foolish, but Donald Trump always plays on everyone’s worst instincts and fears,” she reportedly said. “And saying we’re not going to let a single Muslim into this country is a dangerous overreaction.”

Ben Carson:

“Everyone visiting our country should register and be monitored during their stay as is done in many countries,” Carson campaign spokesman Doug Watts told Reuters. “We do not and would not advocate being selective on one’s religion.”

South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham:

.@Realdonaldtrump has gone from making absurd comments to being downright dangerous with his bombastic rhetoric.

— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) December 7, 2015

He’s putting at risk the lives of interpreters, American supporters, diplomats, & the troops in the region by making these bigoted comments
