UNITED STATES - NOVEMBER 02: Customers pass the sign indicating the opening of their Christmas section inside a Super Wal-Mart in Thornton, Colorado, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007. For most people, the holidays are a time to gather with family and friends, eat, drink, and exchange presents. But sometimes, you need to make a last-minute run to the store. Or you want a restaurant meal instead of a potentially failed, home-cooked one. Or you just can’t stand your crazy uncle and need to get away for a cold beer or foamy cappuccino.

Fortunately, Google (GOOGL) has your back and displays holiday hours for any business you look up using Google Maps or Google Search.

If the business doesn’t have special holiday hours listed, Google will show a warning that their hours may vary because of the holiday season. If it does, tap on the call button, to reach out to the business — before you head out and potentially find a “closed” sign. You can also run a search for what you’re looking for, like “coffee shop” or “Italian restaurant,” and select the “Open Now” option in the search filters to see what’s in operation nearby — Google will also factor in holiday hours using this method of searching.
