The day has finally come where you don’t have to see Donald Trump every time you turn on your computer.
The “Trump Filter” extension for Google’s (GOOGL) Chrome browser searches websites for his name and removes any segment that mentions him. It includes three adjustable levels so you can regulate the extent of Trump filtration based on how much you want to avoid.
Trump Filter creator Rob Spectre, a self-proclaimed “Internet Mathemagician,” offered some insight as to why he made this extension. He’s making no money off of it and says that no one — not any political party, not the Obama Administration, and not his mother — put him up to it. “I am doing this out of a profound sense of annoyance and patriotic duty,” Spectre writes on the website trumpfilter.com.
Spectre hopes that if enough people install Trump Filter, it “will be a strong signal to the international media that America is ready to move on from this inveterate jackass.”
The extension, released Dec. 24., has already been installed successfully over 2,000 times and is blocking more than 100 Trumps per minute, according to Spectre. Most other candidates are overshadowed by the media’s continued heavy coverage of Trump, and Spectre tells Coins2Day that many people who download the filter do so to find out more about those lesser-known opponents.
