Apple is planning to premiere a series of new products in March including an updated iPad Air, according to tech news site 9to5Mac.
The site’s sources say Apple (AAPL) plans to announce a new iPad Air 3 at an event the week of March 14. Apple is said to be testing a new 9.7-inch display panel—the same size as the iPad Air line—that can be used with the Apple Pencil.
Apple introduced its stylus, the Apple Pencil at the same time it unveiled the iPad Pro last September. At launch, the iPad Pro was the only device in Apple’s lineup that supported the accessory. Expanding support across its iPad lineup is a logical step, especially at a time when iPad sales continue to decline. With the Apple Pencil, users are able to write notes or sketch within certain apps on the iPad Pro; presumably, the same would be possible on the iPad Air, only on a smaller screen.

Additionally, DigiTimes is reporting the iPad Air 3 will feature a 4K display for the first time, along with four gigabytes of memory. The current iPad Air 2 has a high-definition screen and two gigabytes of memory.
Apple last updated the iPad Air line in October of 2014.
In addition to new details about the iPad Air 3, the report also says we should expect new colors of Apple Watch sports bands, updated bands for the premium Hermès watch line, as well as a new series of watch bands made from an undisclosed new material.
Previously there had been some speculation Apple would introduce a completely new Apple Watch that featured a slimmer housing and potentially a camera. However, it now appears a smaller refresh is more likely in March.

According to another report by 9to5Mac last week, Apple is expected to announce a revamped 4-inch iPhone at the same March event. The “iPhone 5se” will feature design elements found in the iPhone 6 line of devices, such as slightly curved edges where the display meets the frame on the side of the device, while retaining the same size as its iPhone 5s predecessor.
A supposed photo of the new “iPhone 5se” surfaced earlier this week. If accurate, the device has a slimmer design, and resembles an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S, but only smaller. The power button appears to have been moved from the top to the side, for example.
Apple declined to comment for this report.
