Ride-hailing startup Uber is letting the dogs out this week in a delivery promotion that will bring puppies for in-home cuddle sessions.
The highly valued unicorn is working with Discovery Communications’ (DISCA) Animal Planet and local shelters across several cities including New York and Chicago to deliver puppies to users’ doorsteps. For a $30 “puppy playtime” fee, a puppy and its coaches will visit the home or business of the person who clicks on the “PUPPIES” option on the Uber app.
Uber is running the promotion between 11 a.m. And 2 p.m. On Wednesday across seven cities. In most of the cities, the puppies are also available for adoption.
The small promotion is the latest by Uber to combine the company’s extensive network with adorable animals. Uber has in the past celebrated National Cat Day with a kitty delivery service promotion. Last October, rival ride-hailing service Lyft offered free zombie deliveries or rides driven by zombies for Halloween.
