Skee-Ball is about to go “to the next level.”
Bay Tek Games has bought the iconic Chalfont, Penn.-based manufacturer of Skee-Ball in a move that promises to disrupt the 107-year-old brand.
Bay Tek, which manufactures alley lane games among other children’s arcade games, has already announced that it will use the new acquisition to rename its recently launched Fireball Fusion alley lanes to Skee-Ball.
“We have a lot of respect for the Skee-Ball company, its people, and the brand that it carries,” Bay Tek CEO Gaetan Philippon said in a press release. “We want to celebrate and leverage that and we are eager to see how our capabilities can take the brand to the next level.”
Skee-Ball CEO Joe Sladek described the acquisition as a “bittersweet goodbye.” The company’s operations will be moved to Bay Tek’s Wisconsin location in the coming months, where Bay Tek will continue to manufacture most of its offerings.
