Presidential Candidates Speak At Iowa Democratic Party Jefferson-Jackson Dinner
Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, right, and Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, applaud and stand on stage together during candidate introductions at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S., on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. With Vice President Joe Biden officially out of the presidential race, the nation's first nominating contest between front-runner Clinton and Sanders is gaining steam, according to a new Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll. The Hillary Clinton Campaign did some pretty serious fundraising in February, though it still fell short of the totals put up by her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders.

Clinton, who won big on Super Tuesday, raised $30 million in February and has $31 million in cash on hand, according to Politico. That compares with the $42 million that Sanders raised.

Sanders didn’t announce his total cash on hand, but Politico notes that he had $15 million at the end of January.

The fact that Sanders is able to keep outraising Clinton despite not winning many primaries perhaps shows that what he lacks in numbers he makes up for in enthusiasm. It also suggests that he could be able to actually follow through on his promise to stay in the contest until the Democratic National Convention in July even if he falls out of the running for the nomination.

Sanders did manage to win his home state of Vermont along with Oklahoma on Super Tuesday, plus caucuses in Minnesota and Colorado.
