Donald Trump is officially the only Republican candidate who hasn’t released his tax returns.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich released his tax returns on Saturday, putting pressure on the Republican frontrunner. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz released theirs in late February.
The partial tax returns show that Kasich and his wife earned over $5 million in a seven-year period between 2008 and 2014. That includes income from Kasich’s role as governor, public speaker, board member, FOX News commentator, investor, and his last year as a Lehman Brothers employee. As the New York Times reports, Kasich worked at the financial firm between 2001 and 2008. His income gradually decreased over the next six years reaching about $300,000 in 2013, with an uptick of about $100,000 the next year.
The couple paid more than $1.3 million in federal taxes and $376,272 in state taxes, with an average annual federal tax rate of about 24%.
The governor has yet to win a primary election and currently stands at fourth place in Michigan according to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Marist poll.
