During a rally in Miami, Fla. On Wednesday morning, Carly Fiorina endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for president.
“Ted Cruz is a fearless fighter for our constitutional rights. He has spent his life protecting Americans’ God-given liberties, and he has always stood by his word,” she said in a statement.
She also updated her Twitter account with a link to a Facebook post, in which she acknowledged her own failed presidential run: “I ran for President because I believe it is time to take our country back—and I still believe that. I still believe we need a candidate who will stand for conservative principles. A nominee who will never settle for the status quo, and who will unite us as Republicans.”

The former Hewlett Packard CEO dropped out of the race last month, at which time she made a point of telling her constituents to not vote for a candidate based on gender: “Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you’re a woman. That is not feminism,” she said at the time.
Although Donald Trump is still considered the frontrunner for a Republican nomination, winning the majority of state primaries over the past few weeks, Cruz has emerged as his most serious competition. According to RealClearPolitics, the Senator currently has 359 delegates to Trump’s 458; the other Republican contenders Marco Rubio and John Kasich have 151 and 54, respectively.
