California’s The Wonderful Company issued a recall on Wednesday for a limited number of flavors and sizes in its line of Wonderful Pistachios that have been linked to a multi-state Salmonella outbreak.

In a press release, Wonderful Pistachios advised retailers to remove the specific products from store shelves and posted a list of the products with their lot codes online. The Centers for Disease Control also advised consumers not to purchase the recalled Wonderful Pistachios products, which were also sold under the Paramount Farms and Trader Joe’s brand names in the U.S. And Canada.

So far, 11 cases of Salmonella related to the recalled pistachios have been reported in nine states, with two people being hospitalized and no deaths reported. The cases have been reported in Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Virginia, and Washington.

The company issued the following statement: “Wonderful Pistachios takes food safety matters very seriously and is working closely with health officials to identify the source of the problem. In an effort to further enhance our food safety program and ensure the health and well being of our consumers, we have, effective immediately, proactively increased our sampling frequencies and lot size testing.”

Earlier this year, a massive Salmonella Poona outbreak spread through the U.S., infecting nearly 900 people in 39 states. That outbreak was connected to cucumbers imported from Mexico and distributed by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce, which has seen multiple lawsuits as a result.
