In the medieval fantasy epic series “Game of Thrones,” the key players are often at odds fighting for control of the fictional realm. But the beloved stars have found a reason to unite for a good cause: a campaign with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to bring attention to the global refugee crisis.

Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Sophie Turner, and other stars of the HBO series filmed a video to bring awareness to the IRC’s efforts to help the more than 12 million Syrians displaced by a protracted civil war in the region that started five years ago. The ‘Game of Thrones’-led campaign is called “Rescue Has No Boundaries,” which is aiming to raise funds to help the IRC help those that have been displaced.

The video can be seen below:

“We are currently facing the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II,” stated David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee. “Our partnership with HBO and Game of Thrones—which premiered around the same time the war in Syria began—hopes to galvanize the general public to take action and rise up for refugees.”

More information about the joint effort between the IRC and Time Warner’s (TWX) HBO can be found here. Notably, the campaign unites several members of two fictional families in the “Game of Thrones” series that are at odds, the Lannisters and the Starks.
