Want a free 48-inch Samsung Smart TV? Good! AT&T wants to give you one. You just need to qualify for a new promotion that launches April 1 and runs through the end of the month.
Qualifying for the free television has a few caveats—as is almost always the case with similar promotions.
There are three different pieces of the puzzle you’ll need to put together in order to qualify: AT&T service, a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, and DirecTV (DTV) service. AT&T owns DirecTV, so it’s only natural for the company to push its TV service alongside its wireless offering.
Current AT&T customers who are upgrading to a Galaxy S7 device on AT&T’s Next device payment plan and then sign up for new DirecTV service qualify. Existing DirectTV customers who sign up for a new service with AT&T and select the Galaxy S7 on a Next plan can also claim the free TV.

Essentially, the caveats boil down to each customer having to sign up for at least one new service, whether its adding a new AT&T line or signing up for DirecTV access. Current AT&T customers who upgrade to the Galaxy S7 and already have DirecTV service do not qualify.
AT&T’s promo page states the new service will need to remain active for at least 45 days, and any claims must be filed within 60 days of service starting.

The fine print points to a $449 Samsung Smart TV, which has a 4-star rating on Amazon with just under 1,400 reviews. Although, keep in mind you shouldn’t trust all Amazon reviews.
To claim your free TV, you’ll need to fill out some paperwork and upload a copy of your receipt on Samsung’s promotional page once the deal goes live.

AT&T’s (T) promotion is the latest move by wireless carriers to remain attractive to customers. As the playing field of price plans and device portfolios grow ever-so-similar, promotions in which smartphones, TVs, smartwatches, or even VR headsets are trotted around as incentives to woo new customers are growing in popularity.
For example, T-Mobile announced an iPhone promotion on Wednesday entailing after buying one iPhone at full price, customers could by a second iPhone at half-price.
