The star of the E! Reality series I Am Cait is reportedly joining the cast of another show.
Caitlyn Jenner, best known for her relationship with the Kardashian clan and days as an Olympic decathlete, is set to appear in the third season of the hit Amazon (AMZN) series Transparent, the Associated Press reports. Jill Soloway, creator and executive producer of the show, hasn’t revealed any details about the new character, but in an interview at Saturday’s GLAAD Media Awards she called the news “a dream come true.”
Soloway added that it wasn’t difficult to get Jenner to agree to appear on the show. “We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, I Am Cait” she said. “Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.” Jenner, who also recently became the face of H&M’s new athleisure line, is scheduled to begin filming next week.
“Transparent” follows the story of Maura Pfefferman, played by Jeffrey Tambor, who comes out to her friends and family as transgender. Variety reports that it won the GLAAD award for outstanding comedy series. I Am Cait tied with I Am Jazz for outstanding reality program.
