Though Donald Trump is still leading in total delegate count for the Republican nomination, he’s complaining about how some delegates are being allocated to his rival Ted Cruz, especially in the state of Colorado.
On television program Fox & Friends this morning, Trump said that the system in Colorado was “rigged” against him.
He may have a point. After all, someone using the Colorado Republican party’s Twitter account sent a message with the popular anti-Trump hashtag #NeverTrump after all of the state’s delegates were awarded to Cruz. Unlike other states, Colorado’s Republican party chooses the delegates in conventions rather than in a primary or caucus.

“They weren’t given a vote,” the Republican presidential front-runner said. “It’s a crooked deal. The system is rigged, crooked. That’s not the way democracy is supposed to work.”
The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
Trump, Cruz and fellow candidate John Kasich are now turning their eyes to next week’s primary in New York, a critical one for Trump if he wants to get to the 1,237 delegates required to win the nomination on the first ballot.
