If you own an iPad Pro and were offered to download iOS 9.3.2, you might want to wait a bit.
Several iPad Pro owners have taken to Twitter (TWTR), Apple’s Support forums, and forums on Apple-tracking site Mac Rumors to report that Apple’s latest iOS version is “bricking” their devices. The issue seems to be a problem especially for those with the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, though others didn’t specify which version of their iPad Pro was rendered useless.
“Mine is bricked,” one iPad Pro owner on the Macrumors forum reported. “Says it needs to be plugged into iTunes, won’t restore or update, just a big loop. Fantastic.”
“‘It just works’ is truly (and sadly) dead,” one Twitter user tweeted, referring to the slogan that Apple’s products work with ease. “IOS 9.3.2 bricked my iPad Pro.” The person added that he was unable to download the update to his iPhone 6s.

Similar complaints were discovered across Twitter and Apple’s forums. CNET earlier reported on the issue.
The issue appears to occur when iPad Pro owners try to download the new iOS version Apple (AAPL) launched on Monday. Dubbed iOS 9.3.2, the update “fixes bugs and improves the security of your iPhone or iPad,” according to Apple. The update specifically targets a few bugs and glitches, but Apple did not say that it would cause any trouble for iPad Pro owners.
According to the users who have complained of the problem, upon downloading the new iOS version, they receive an “Error 56” message. They’re then directed to plug the device into a computer running iTunes to fix the problem. Upon doing so, however, the device is still unusable and doesn’t escape its “bricked” state.
Apple’s own support page says that the error refers to a hardware problem and suggests that users ensure they’re running the latest version of iTunes and “check for issues with third-party security software.” When all else fails, the company suggests users contact Apple’s support team.
While it’s unclear how widespread the issue is, it’s just the latest in a long line of troubles affecting iOS 9.3. The operating system update, which launched in March, has suffered from several glitches, including apps freezing, links not working, and more. Apple subsequently fixed the issues iOS 9.3.1 and iOS 9.3.2, but it appears more trouble has surfaced.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the reported troubles. However, when other issues with iOS 9.3 cropped up, Apple posted some workarounds and promised a fix. The company could follow the same script this time around.
