SiriusXM (SIRI) is currently “evaluating” The Glenn Beck Program after suspending the independently produced show this week.

Beck spoke to fiction writer and Republican Brad Thor last week about the current election cycle, and specifically his thoughts on Donald Trump’s campaign. The radio host has since been suspended because of comments that his guest made about the candidate.

Thor described a potential Trump presidency as “one of the greatest crises our nation has seen since the Great Depression, since World War II.” He said that the candidate is a “disaster for liberty,” and if he’s voted into the White House it could be an “extinction-level event potentially for our republic, for democracy.”

The writer said that Donald Trump terrifies him, and he blasted conservatives for ignoring the possible consequences saying, “Damn you all to hell who refuse to acknowledge the potential for tyranny.” Trump is “a potential Mussolini,” Thor said on the show.” “He’s a Chavez, he’s a Perón.”

Thor expressed concern that if Trump is elected and oversteps his constitutionally granted authority as president, Congress may not do anything about it. He added that, if that’s the case, he doesn’t see a “legal means available” for the American people to remove Trump from office, effectively putting us in a “terrible, terrible position.”

Beck responded by saying, “I would agree with you on that.” Beck has previously expressed his own dislike for Trump and, prior to the Texas senator dropping out of the race, supported Ted Cruz for president.

A statement from SiriusXM, obtained by Politico, explains its choice to suspend Beck: “Comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced Glenn Beck Program, in our judgment, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot condone.”

Neither Glenn Beck nor SiriusXM could immediately be reached for comment.
