Céline Dion Joins the Long Line of Celebs Who Want to Sell You Stuff

Céline Dion is the latest celebrity to get into the lifestyle game.

The legendary singer has signed a multi-year agreement to create a retail collection, which will include beauty, fashion, and travel products, among others.

The new line—which has yet to be named—is a collaboration between Dion, licensing company Epic Rights, and marketing firm Prominent Brand + Talent. Products will begin rolling out in fall 2017, according to Billboard.

“We are all very excited to work with Epic Rights and Prominent Brand + Talent to develop a lifestyle brand that translates Céline’s passions—family, music, performing, entertaining, fashion–into unique products and experiences for her fans around the world,” said Dion’s manager, Aldo Giampaolo, in a statement.

The path from celebrity to retail maven is well trod. Ellen DeGeneres launched EDByEllen last summer, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop is still going strong, and Jessica Alba’s The Honest Co. Has a valuation of more than $1 billion, despite a series of lawsuits.

But hawking brand merch isn’t as easy as these successful celebs-turned-businesswomen make it appear. Blake Lively was forced to shutter her e-commerce site, Preserve, last fall, just a few months after Martha Stewart’s eponymous brand was sold for $353 million, down from a valuation of as much as $2 million.
