Macadamia nuts that had been sold at Whole Foods (WFM) are being recalled because of Salmonella concerns.

The macadamia nuts had been supplied to the natural grocery chain by Marin Food Specialties and are now being recalled after testing positive for Salmonella during routine FDA testing, according to the recall notice. The products had only been sold at Whole Foods locations in four western states—California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

No illnesses have been reported to the company at the time of writing. Salmonella can be fatal in those with weakened immune systems, including young children and the elderly.

The macadamia nuts were packaged in 6 oz. Plastic tubs and were labeled as “Whole Foods Raw Macadamia Nuts” with best by dates ranging from August 21, 2016 to November 6, 2016. It’s uncertain how long the nuts had been on shelves and available to consumers before the recall was issued. Consumers are urged to throw away the product, though they can return to Whole Foods with their receipts in order to get a full refund.

This is the second food safety issue Whole Foods has faced in June. Coins2Day previously reported that earlier this month the retailer received a letter from the FDA citing “serious violations” at one of its food preparation facilities, including the presence of Listeria.

Neither Whole Foods nor Marin Food could immediately be reached for comment.
