Ivanka Trump is in hot water—again.
The daughter of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump is being accused of copying the designs of Italian shoe brand Aquazzura for her own eponymous retail label, according to CNBC.
The suit focuses on Aquazzura’s Wild Thing sandals, one of its most popular styles, which sells for as much as $785. Trump’s version, a sandal called the Hettie, has a listed sale price of $145 at Bloomingdale’s. The Italian label is seeking an injunction barring Trump from selling the alleged knockoff, plus damages and attorney fees.
Aquazzura previously called out the purported theft in early March, with the company’s founder Edgardo Osorio writing a scathing Instagram post about Trump:
“One of the most disturbing things in the fashion industry is when someone blatantly steals your copyright designs and doesn’t care. You should know better. Shame on you [Ivanka Trump]! Imitation is NOT the most sincere form of flattery.”
Another one of Trump’s products has been in the news recently, though for different reasons. In April, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that 20,000 of her brand’s scarves were being recalled for violating the U.S. Federal Flammability Standard.
