Hillary Clinton made history Thursday night, becoming the first female presidential nominee of a major political party.

A number of high-profile women made their support for Clinton known on Twitter, including Oprah Winfrey, who commented that the glass ceiling had been “cracked wide open,” and Ellen DeGeneres, who quoted the nominee’s acceptance speech: “When there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit.”

When there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit. Beautiful speech, @HillaryClinton. I'm ready.

A few people—notably Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington and Scandal producer Shonda Rhimes—commented on the fact that Clinton quoted Hamilton: The Musical in her speech (“Though we may not live to see the glory, let us gladly join the fight.”)

Many women, including model and America’s Next Top Model producer Tyra Banks, spent the evening watching the historic moment with their children.
