Executive changes continue at Hewlett Packard Enterprise with news that Bill Hilf, senior vice president and general manager of HP Cloud, is leaving, as is Manish Goel, who held the same title at HPE’s storage business.
Both execs are leaving to pursue other opportunities, according to an HPE blog post. Mark Interrante will now lead a tweaked cloud effort.
HPE (HPE) is putting its Helion OpenStack and Helion CloudSystem businesses into a new “Software-Defined & Cloud Group,” to be headed by Ric Lewis, formerly senior vice president and general manager of converged data center infrastructure.

Mark Interrante will lead this team.
Interrante will report to Lewis. Bill Philbin will now head HPE’s storage effort.
Change is the norm at HPE, especially in cloud. Two years ago, Marten Mickos, who had come aboard as part of HP’s acquisition of Eucalyptus, was named top cloud exec but within months was gone, replaced by Hilf. Update: Other former HP cloud bosses include Saar Gillai who led cloud from 2012 to 2014 according to his LinkedIn bio and Zorowar Biri Singh, who left in 2013 and is now chief technology officer at Cisco (CSCO)

And there have been bigger structural changes as well as HPE split off from the venerable 76-year-old Hewlett-Packard entity last year, taking with it high-end servers and storage along with cloud computing units. HP Co., (HPQ) retained the printer and PC business.

HPE spun off its struggling enterprise services business into a new entity co-owned by CSC (CSC) in May. There have also been reports that private equity firms are looking into buying part or all of HPE.
