Does Ivanka Trump practice what she preaches?
On Monday, the Washington Post reported that G-III Apparel Group, a company that is licensed to design and distribute Ivanka Trump-branded clothing, does not offer its employees paid family leave. Instead, the apparel maker allows just 12 weeks of unpaid leave, which is the federally mandated minimum for companies with more than 50 employees.
The publication points out that G-III’s policy is at odds with Trump’s personal brand, which is centered on being a champion for working women. She recently announced that she is writing a book called Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success, billed as a guide for new generation of women interested in “working smarter, not harder; integrating our personal passions and priorities with our professional goals in order to architect lives we love.”
At the Republican National Convention last month, Trump spoke at length about being a mother of three and how “American families need relief.” She said that policies “that allow women with children to thrive should not be novelties, they should be the norm.”

A spokesperson for the Ivanka Trump points out that out that G-III is a separate company, not owned by Trump . Her own company—the Ivanka Trump brand—offers employees eight weeks of paid leave, as well as “flexible working hours with a focus on results rather than face time.”
The spokesperson also told Coins2Day that G-III is the licensee for several other high-profile brands, including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Jessica Simpson.
G-III Apparel did not respond to Coins2Day‘s request for comment.
