A power outage in Atlanta early Monday morning affected Delta Air Lines’ computer systems worldwide, the company said, resulting in thousands of flight delays and 451 cancellations across the globe as of 1:30 p.m. ET. Departures were halted at 5:00 a.m. But resumed by 8:40 a.m., albeit with continued delays and cancellations.

Delta Is Canceling 250 More Flights Today

The airline is offering waivers for customers affected by the delays, traveling on August 8 through the 12th. The rebooked flights must take off by the 12th, per Delta’s website, for customers to receive the same fare they already paid. Delta’s (DAL) website says, however, that the company will waive the rescheduling fee even if the new flight occurs after the 12th.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian apologized to customers on Monday afternoon, saying, “I apologize for the challenges this has created for you with your travel experience.”

The company is advising customers to check flight information, and you might also want to check other airlines for available seats. If you’ve been affected by the delay, here are six ways to kill time while you wait.
