Harry Potter mania is alive and well after the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script on July 31. Scholastic (SCHL) announced Wednesday that over 3.3 million copies of the script book have been sold since its release date.
“We’re delighted to see the sustained enthusiasm for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two which has also sparked more interest in the seven previously published Harry Potter books,” said Ellie Berger, President, Scholastic Trade, in a statement.

The script edition of the live play that is currently in production on London’s West End sold 2 million copies in the first two days on shelves in the U.S. And Canada. The release had bookstores and readers celebrating with midnight parties across the country as fans read the story, which picks up 19 years after Harry Potter has defeated Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Now, Cursed Child focuses on the next wizarding generation.
