Each year at Coins2Day, we celebrate the 50 Most Powerful Women in corporate America. But we also reserve a special spot—a “fun 51″—on our list as a way of honoring a female leader who, while she may not be an executive in the traditional sense, has made a significant impact on U.S. Culture and business.
In 2015, the slot went to Taylor Swift for refusing to put her music on Spotify, and then forcing Apple Music to change the way it compensated musicians during its trial period. She shifted the power dynamic back to artists, proving just how significant a player she is in the music business.
This year, there are a number of amazing women who have made major waves. In the running are Beyoncé, who expanded her empire to athleisure; Samantha Bee, who has revolutionized late night television; Megyn Kelly, who took on Donald Trump; and a host of other talented and powerful women.
